This policy explains how psychopomp-designs.co.uk uses cookies and browser local storage. We aim to use as little as possible — no advertising networks, no analytics trackers, no social media pixels.
What Are Cookies?
Cookies are small text files stored in your browser when you visit a website. Local storage is a similar browser mechanism that can store slightly more data. Both persist between page visits.
Cookies We Use
Session Cookie (Essential)
| Name | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
PHPSESSID |
PHP session cookie used only by the admin panel. Not set for regular visitors. | Session (deleted when browser closes) |
Local Storage We Use
We use browser local storage (not cookies) for the following:
| Key | Purpose | When Set |
|---|---|---|
pd_cookie_consent |
Remembers that you have acknowledged the cookie banner, so it is not shown again. | When you click “Accept” on the cookie banner. |
pd_theme |
Stores your preferred colour theme (dark or light) so it persists between visits. | When you toggle the theme button in the navigation. |
Third-Party Cookies
We load resources from the following external CDNs, which may set their own cookies or log your IP address:
- Cloudflare — CDN and security layer. Cloudflare may set a
__cf_bmcookie for bot detection. See Cloudflare's cookie policy. - Google Fonts — loads our typeface (Victor Mono). Google may log IP addresses. See Google's privacy policy.
We do not use advertising cookies, social media tracking pixels, or analytics services such as Google Analytics.
How to Manage Cookies
You can control and delete cookies and local storage through your browser settings:
Deleting our local storage items will reset your cookie consent preference (the banner will reappear) and your theme preference (site will default to dark mode).
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy if we change how we use cookies. The “last updated” date at the top reflects any changes.
